We’re back home after six days RVing in Assateague, Maryland. The humans said we were doing something called “boondocking”. Don’t know what was so special about it. I had all my usual comforts in the rolling doghouse . . .
I knew my kid brother, Alvin, was gonna be absolutely amazed at this place called Assateague. I was here last year and knew what to expect. But Alvin . . . well . . . let’s just say he has a lot to experience after being stuck in a crate in that awful city environment. Here’s what happened:

Alvin couldn’t believe his eyes . . . “What’s all that moving water, Lola?” Alvin asked. I replied, “It’s the ocean. It’s fun to look at, but don’t get too close. It sneaks up on you and gets your paws wet when you’re not looking. I just hate getting wet – especially my paws!”

“Holy cow! Look at those four-leggeds!” Alvin blurted out. “Not cows – those are wild horses, Alvin. Stay calm and they won’t bother us,” I cautioned.

“Alvin, I told you to remain calm . . . now we have to stay inside and watch them through the window.” I sighed.

“They’re bigger than the deer at home – and they will kick or bite if you annoy them,” I warned Alvin.

“I could chase these guys, right Lola?” Alvin asked. “The grackles are pretty quick, Alvin. Besides, you aren’t supposed to pull on leash or go off the path into the sand dunes,” I reminded him.

“See what happens when you run off the path?” I scolded Alvin. “I told you those sand spurs really hurt when they get stuck in-between your paw pads!”

“Good grief, can’t you just settle down and take a nice nap?” I asked in exasperation. “And, could you PLEASE get your tail off my snout? You’re blocking my sunshine.”

Glad to see that the humans are making sure Alvin gets his special food. When he eats my kibble, he gets very itchy. Then his constant scratching keeps me awake . . . and I need my beauty sleep. “Hey, Alvin! Hoping that the humans spill some kibble on the floor?”

Guess it’s only fair that Alvin sits in Dee’s lap – I love to sit in Paul’s lap, especially when the temperature is a bit nippy in the morning. Look at him though . . . he still thinks he can catch one of those birds!

Back on the beach. Can anyone convince this pup that he can’t fly? He chases the grackles, the sea gulls, the butterflies, the kites . . . even the airplanes! What’s with this pup?

Rut roh . . . What happened Alvin? The humans captured it all with their cameras. Stay tuned for the video next week . . . lol

Am I ever exhausted . . . and there’s so much more to teach this young pup. Good thing he’s got me here. Wonder where we’re RVing next . . .
Love, love, love this blog. Dee…your the best.
